1. Palolem Beach
Palolem Beach in South Goa is a slice of paradise. The crescent-shaped shoreline, lined with swaying palm trees and colorful beach shacks, is postcard-perfect. What I loved most about Palolem was its laid-back atmosphere. It’s not as crowded as some of the more popular beaches, making it ideal for relaxation. I spent hours kayaking through the calm waters and even spotted a few dolphins!

2. Anjuna Beach
Anjuna Beach, in North Goa, is famous for its bohemian vibe and historic significance as a hub for hippies in the 60s and 70s. The rocky outcrops and golden sand create a striking contrast, and the beach is dotted with quirky flea markets and beachside cafes. I visited on a Wednesday to explore the iconic Anjuna Flea Market, where I picked up some handmade jewelry and souvenirs.
For a memorable meal, head to Brittos, a legendary beach shack known for its grilled prawns and chilled beers. A meal for two costs around ₹1,500. If you’re staying overnight, The Hosteller Anjuna is a great budget-friendly option at ₹1,200 per night for a dorm bed, or you can splurge on a private room at Casa Vagator for ₹6,000.

Just a short drive from Anjuna, Vagator Beach stole my heart with its dramatic red cliffs and serene ambiance. The beach is divided into two parts—Big Vagator and Little Vagator—both equally stunning. I spent an evening watching the sunset from Chapora Fort, which offers breathtaking views of the coastline.
Dining at Thalassa, a Greek-inspired restaurant perched on a cliff, was an unforgettable experience. The moussaka and sangria were divine, and the sunset views made it worth every penny (around ₹2,000 for two). For accommodation, Wanderers Hostel is a great choice for backpackers at ₹1,000 per night, while The Leela Goa offers luxury stays starting at ₹12,000.

Baga Beach is the place to be if you’re looking for action and excitement. From water sports like jet skiing and parasailing to lively beach parties, Baga has it all. I tried my hand at parasailing and loved the adrenaline rush. The beach is also lined with some of the best shacks and bars in Goa.
For dinner, I headed to Britto’s (yes, another one!), a popular spot for seafood lovers. Their butter garlic crab (around ₹1,200) is a must-try. If you’re staying in Baga, Casa Vagator has a branch here too, with rooms starting at ₹5,000. For a more budget-friendly option, Hotel Fiesta offers clean, comfortable rooms for ₹2,500 per night.

5. Agonda Beach
Last but not least, Agonda Beach is a hidden gem in South Goa. This quiet, pristine beach is perfect for those seeking solitude and natural beauty. I spent an entire day here, lounging under a beach umbrella and reading a book. The gentle waves and soft sand made it the most relaxing day of my trip.
For food, I recommend Café Inn, a charming shack serving fresh seafood and Goan delicacies. Their prawn curry and rice (around ₹500) was simple yet flavorful. For accommodation, Agonda Serenity offers beachfront cottages for ₹3,500 per night, while The Cape Goa provides a more luxurious experience at ₹8,000 per night.
